CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST (AD HOC CONTRACT)
Your Role: The psychiatrist deploys his or her outstanding clinical and medicolegal skills and experience to represent Halcyon Doctors with the highest quality and ethical standards.
Medico-legal work
Assessments include capacity to set up or change a Will (Testamentary Capacity), to grant or revoke an LPA, to manage financial affairs, to litigate, to make a significant gift, to decide where to reside, as well as many other decisions and tasks. We also offer record-based retrospective assessments of mental capacity, typically in relation to contentious probate cases. Although infrequent, the medico-legal work may necessitate attendance in court. All cases are completed with thorough and meticulously written medical or court reports.
Clinical work
Although comprising a small proportion of our work, we offer clinical services, mainly for older adults. Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients exhibiting symptoms caused by conditions such as Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, delirium, depression, anxiety, alcohol-related brain injury, and other long-term mental disorders.
Support
The medical director is available for support and we offer a well-attended, weekly multidisciplinary team meeting, where cases are discussed between colleagues.

Post-appointment the team is responsible for swiftly and accurately processing any clinical output, for invoicing, taking payments, and any other customer-related matters.
