Overview
We are looking for a part-time Optometrist to join our team in delivering outstanding patient care. You’ll play a key role in providing expert advice, fitting a wide range of contact lenses, and offering ongoing care that helps patients feel confident, comfortable, and well-cared for.
This role is ideal for someone who values the clinical side of optometry, enjoys building trust with patients from a variety of backgrounds, and thrives in a supportive, collaborative team. You’ll have the time, tools, and autonomy to do your job to a high standard, without feeling rushed or restricted. Collaboration is at the heart of our practice, so you’ll work closely with your colleagues to ensure a smooth patient journey and a great workplace culture. Our practice is situated opposite West Croydon Station and just a short walk/bus ride from East Croydon Station. Located in a vibrant high street area, you\\\’ll have access to nearby shops, restaurants, and Sainsbury\\\’s for convenience.
As our new Optometrist, you’ll carry out thorough eye examinations and provide tailored services and solutions that align with each patient’s lifestyle and needs. You’ll work within GOC guidelines and company policies to deliver expert care while supporting the team by resolving clinical or technical queries. Your role will also involve liaising with external professionals, maintaining practice equipment, and contributing your knowledge and ideas to the continued success of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough eye examinations and provide tailored services and solutions.
- Fitting a wide range of contact lenses and offering ongoing patient care.
- Work within GOC guidelines and company policies to deliver expert care.
- Liaise with external professionals and maintain practice equipment.

Qualifications
- Registered with the GOC or an appropriate governing body to apply for this role.
- MECS accreditation is required.
Role details
- Location: Croydon area, opposite West Croydon Station, near East Croydon Station.
- Consulting rooms: 2
- Team size: 4 members
- Appointment times: 30 minutes
- Equipment available: OCT, phoropter, fundus, autos, fields, topographer
- Work pattern: 3 days per week, either Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays; or every 2nd Saturday (examples: Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday or Monday-Tuesday-Saturday)
