We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Optical Assistant to join our team in Ferndown on a part-time basis (3 days per week, including some Saturdays).

Underwood Eyecare is a well-established independent practice in Ferndown, known for our personal, patient-focused approach and high clinical standards. Our modern clinic is equipped with the latest optical technology, creating a supportive and professional working environment.
Location
Located in the heart of Ferndown, our practice is easily accessible by car and public transport. We are just off the A31 and have convenient links to Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne, and Ringwood. Free on-site parking is available for staff, and local bus routes stop just a short walk from the practice. The area is well-served with shops, cafés, and amenities, making it a pleasant and practical place to work.
About You
You are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and patient care, with at least 2 years’ experience in an optical setting. You’re a team player with a proactive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting with patient enquiries and reception duties
Pre-screening and clinical support
Frame styling and dispensing
General administrative support
Includes some Saturday working
No Sunday working
