Fire Alarm Service & Small Works Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service & Small Works Engineer to join a growing team covering London.

This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in servicing, fault finding and small works who enjoys working across a variety of commercial sites, predominantly retail stores.

The Role

As a Fire Alarm Service & Small Works Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and small installation works on a range of fire safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Service emergency lighting systems.
  • Service fire extinguishers (experience preferred but not essential as full training can be provided).
  • Attend reactive call-outs to diagnose and rectify system faults.
  • Complete small remedial works identified during servicing or reactive visits.
  • Replace fire alarm control panels, detectors and install additional devices on existing systems.
  • Conduct site surveys and install new fire alarm systems where required.
  • Complete service reports and certification accurately, making recommendations for any remedial works.
  • Participate in a 1-in-6 call-out rota.

Requirements

  • Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
  • Experience fault finding and carrying out small works.
  • Good knowledge of fire alarm systems and associated equipment.
  • Emergency lighting experience is advantageous.
  • Fire extinguisher servicing experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
