Make the science simple. Be the credible voice behind a brand that actually works. This isn’t a normal nutritionist role. Most in-house nutrition roles are compliance jobs in disguise. You studied the science, but you’re not influencing anything. You’re just the sign-off. This is different. We want a nutritionist who shapes what we say, not just approves it.
You’ll be the scientific voice of the brand: translating evidence into messaging, training the team, building trust with customers, and making sure everything we say is accurate, clear, and compelling. Hair and wellbeing is crowded with noise and nonsense. Our advantage is that we take ingredients, formulas and routines seriously, and we can explain them in plain English. We need someone who can go deep on the evidence and then make it simple.
About Hairburst: We sit where beauty meets wellbeing: effective, habit-forming hair growth solutions that earn a permanent spot in the bathroom. We’re owner-operators. In 2014, our founders launched Hairburst with £4k. In 2021, the brand joined JD Sports. In 2023, the founders bought back 100% to build the company we always wanted to run. Today: Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett, DTC and marketplaces across nine territories. Over a million customers. A subscription business where customers stay because the products actually work. That last part matters. We’re not selling hype. Our business model depends on efficacy. That’s why we need someone who understands the science properly.
What you’ll actually do:
- Own ingredient and formula knowledge. Become the internal expert on our products: what’s in them, why, how they work, and how to talk about them accurately.
- Turn science into plain English. Write and review education across the business: product pages, FAQs, email flows, social content, packaging copy, retail training materials.
- Train the business. Build training for customer care, retail partners, and internal teams so everyone speaks with the same confidence and accuracy.
- Support launches. For new products, help build the story: ingredients, rationale, usage, routine, what to expect, and what not to promise.
- Strengthen trust and compliance. Keep us accurate and responsible in how we talk about benefits, claims and outcomes. Know the UK/EU rules.
- Be the on‑call expert. Support creators, PR and partnerships with accurate briefings, ingredient explainers, and Q&A.
What good looks like:
- Customers feel clearer and more confident after reading our content, not overwhelmed.
- Our team and retail partners can explain our products consistently, without guesswork.
- We ship faster because content doesn’t get stuck in endless debate about what’s "allowed". It’s clear, accurate, and signed off.
- Hairburst becomes known for credible education, not hype.
Who this is for: You’re a registered nutritionist (or have a strong nutrition science background) who’s moved brand‑side, or wants to. You don’t need ten years’ experience. You do need credibility and the ability to communicate.
Degree in nutrition, nutrition science, or similar. Ideally AfN registered (ANutr or RNutr), or working towards it, or equivalent credibility. Strong writing and editing in plain English. Comfortable working cross‑functionally with marketing, product, commercial and customer teams. You care about accuracy, but you’re not precious. You can make decisions and move.
Bonus (not required): experience in supplements, FMCG, beauty/wellbeing, retail training, or regulated claims.
How to apply: Submit your CV plus a short appendix (max 300 words total) answering both questions below.
- Question 1: Critical judgement What’s a health or well‑being claim you often see that annoys you? How would you rewrite it honestly?
- Question 2: Science made simple Pick one ingredient used in hair or wellbeing supplements. Explain what the evidence actually suggests in six lines that a normal person can understand. No fluff.
One last thing: If you’re looking for a quiet compliance role where you check boxes and stay in your lane, this isn’t it. If you want to be the credible voice of a brand that’s actually trying to do this properly, and you can make science simple without making it stupid, we’d like to hear from you.
