We are looking for a Technical Compliance Technologist to join our growing Technical team in a hybrid role supporting our Histon and Fakenham sites.

You will gain hands-on experience working with major UK retailers, supporting audit preparation, managing technical systems and compliance activities, and developing your understanding of food safety, quality standards, retailer requirements and governance processes. This role offers an excellent platform for anyone interested in pursuing a career in auditing, compliance, technical management or quality assurance.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the UK Technical function and working closely with both internal teams and retail customers. From managing customer technical portals and audit data to supporting BRC and retailer audits, this is a varied and rewarding role where you can learn, develop and make a real impact. Working with some of the UK's largest retailers and supporting well-known household brands will provide exposure and career development opportunities that few early-career technical roles can offer.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Technical & Quality Support
    • Manage UK retailer technical portals, ensuring certifications, site information and contact details remain accurate and up to date.
    • Track, maintain and report technical KPIs for key retail customers.
    • Support internal audits across manufacturing and distribution sites.
    • Maintain Impact reporting for sustainability initiatives including Palm, Soy and Cocoa data.
    • Maintain BRC documentation, Codes of Practice and audit databases.
    • Support site teams during customer, retailer and BRC audits.
    • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of quality standards, procedures and technical systems.
  • Compliance & Auditing
    • Support compliance with retailer requirements, industry standards and internal policies.
    • Assist with audit preparation, evidence gathering and corrective action tracking.
    • Develop knowledge of food safety standards, compliance requirements and quality management systems.
    • Gain practical experience in auditing and technical governance processes.
  • Health & Safety
    • Support compliance with Group Health & Safety policies and procedures.
    • Promote safe working practices across all sites.
  • Data & Decision Support
    • Produce accurate and timely technical data to support business and operational decision-making.
    • Maintain technical records and reporting systems.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with site teams, senior managers and retail partners.
    • Represent the Technical function in a professional and proactive manner.
    • Build strong relationships across departments and support cross-functional projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential
    • Experience within a Technical, Quality or Food Safety function.
    • Experience conducting internal audits.
    • Experience using retailer technical systems, portals or Codes of Practice.
    • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Desirable
    • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutrition, Quality Management or a related discipline.
    • HACCP Level 3 qualification.
    • Lead Auditor training.
    • Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing.

Location & Working Pattern

Hybrid role based at either Histon, Cambridgeshire or Fakenham, Norfolk. Regular travel between UK sites will be required. Some flexibility may be required during audit periods and peak business activity.
