Our client is a leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery and due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Trainee Field Service Engineer. A superb opportunity for a junior engineer to train and develop into a highly skilled field engineer.
Salary: £30K - £34K Neg + OT + Vehicle + Benefits
The Role:
Reporting to the service manager and working closely with the service engineers, you will be responsible for machine maintenance, service and repair activities on customer sites. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Installation, maintenance, service and repair of automated machinery including conveyors, cutting machinery, pick and place robots and rotary machinery.
- Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, etc.
- Electrical fault finding and repair of contactors, panels, wiring, motors, sensors, etc.
Candidate:
The successful candidate will have good mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills and should, as a minimum, be capable of reading engineering drawings. Previous experience with basic mechanical fitting, assembly or maintenance is preferred, and applicants with a recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification will be advantageous. Must be computer literate and have a valid UK driving licence. Full training will be given and this is a fabulous opportunity for a NVQ trained engineer to enter the field service arena with excellent financial and career development rewards. You will be required to undertake extensive travel throughout the UK including some weekends.
Hours Of Work: Monday to Friday 40 hrs + OT. Regular weekend work with excellent rates of pay.
