Our client is a leading heavy industry manufacturer, and due to their continued success, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Maintenance Supervisor.
The successful applicant will lead a small team of maintenance engineers at our client\’s busy manufacturing plant near Rugeley.
The Role
The Maintenance Supervisor will provide hands-on supervision for a team of maintenance engineers, ensuring the effective implementation of the planned preventative maintenance schedule and resource allocation for reactive maintenance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervising a team to ensure effective delivery of maintenance tasks
- Hands-on training and supervision of engineers
- Updating maintenance schedules and producing hand-over sheets
- Working on motors, inverters, contactors, sensors, relays, switchgear, and PLC fault finding (Siemens)
- Mechanical maintenance of machinery including furnaces, conveyors, cranes, heat treatment, and cooling systems
- Managing hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps, and motors
- Managing contractors and spare parts
- Managing work schedules, rotas, safety talks, and staff motivation
- Participating in project work
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will be experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineers with supervisory experience, preferably in heavy industry sectors such as steel, aggregates, or mining. At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience is required. Strong electrical installation, fault finding, and repair skills are highly desirable.
Hours of Work
12-hour days Monday to Thursday and 12-hour nights Tuesday to Friday, rotating monthly.
Benefits
Salary of £48K plus overtime, 28 days annual leave (pro-rata), pension scheme.
