Our client is a very successful distributor of woodworking machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for this position. The role requires excellent mechanical engineering skills and basic 3‑phase electrical fault finding and repair abilities. The engineer will operate as a \’home based\’ field engineer responsible for maintenance and repair of machinery throughout South East England.

The Role

  • Mechanical maintenance activities: removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.
  • Carry out fault finding and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Electrical fault finding and repair on motors, servos, and 415 V and 24 V circuits (ability to read electrical wiring drawings is essential).
  • Machine installation and commissioning.

Candidate

  • Excellent mechanical engineering skills and 3‑phase electrical fault finding and repair skills.
  • Previous experience with woodworking machinery advantageous; full training will be provided.
  • Good customer service and communication skills; friendly disposition.
