Our client is a leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for machine installation, maintenance and repair duties at client sites throughout the UK.
The Role:
Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, service and repair of a wide range of automated packaging machinery.
Duties will include but is not limited to the following;
- Installation, maintenance, service and repair of conveyors, packaging machinery and high speed filling and capping machinery and more.
- Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement on broken and worn component parts
- Electrical fault find and repair on motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential).
- PLC fault find and repair
- Provide operational training for customers
- Produce and maintain accurate site/work visit reports
Candidate:
You will be an experienced multi skilled engineer ideally with previous experience in working with high speed automated or bespoke machinery.
You will have excellent 3-phase electrical / mechanical engineering skills including plc fault find and repair skills.
Applicants will have recognised electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications e.g. NVQ 3, City & Guilds or HNC/HND
You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and you will be of a friendly disposition.
You will be required to undertake extensive travel throughout the UK.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 40 hours + OT
