This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys leading people, working closely with senior stakeholders and providing practical legal advice across a varied and interesting range of matters.
The organisation is looking for someone who can bring experience, stability and a collaborative approach to an established legal team.
The Role
Reporting to a senior director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the legal function, ensuring that work is effectively prioritised and the team is supported to deliver high-quality advice across the business. The work is broad and varied, encompassing commercial contracts, major projects, infrastructure, property, employment and general in-house legal matters. Alongside providing legal oversight, a significant part of the role will involve managing and developing the team, delegating work appropriately and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the organisation.
About You
We would love to hear from experienced in-house lawyers who have a strong general commercial background and enjoy managing people. You don’t need to be a specialist in every area of law. What matters most is your ability to take a pragmatic approach, manage competing priorities and provide confident, sensible advice. Previous experience leading a legal team would be particularly valuable, as would a calm, approachable management style. Experience within a public sector or regulated environment could be useful, although candidates from other in-house backgrounds are equally welcome.

- Hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week on site, including Wednesdays.
- A broad and interesting in-house legal role.
- The opportunity to lead and develop an established team.
- Direct access to senior leadership and the chance to make a genuine impact.
