Assisting the business’ US-based Senior Trade Compliance Manager, and with a dotted line into the Head of Legal (International) and Global Compliance Officer based in West Yorkshire, you will be a valuable member of the business’ legal and compliance function.

The Opportunity
This role, which offers an outstanding opportunity to forge a career in global trade compliance, will involve you assisting the business’ Senior Trade Compliance Manager and supporting the company’s global trade compliance department.
Your work will facilitate global trade and ensure compliance with customs regimes and various other regulations globally.
Amongst other tasks, on a day-to-day basis you will be:
assisting with export, import and global sanctions compliance and screenings; reviewing and applying export restrictions; coding products ready for export; maintaining relevant compliance files and logs; working with the internal sales teams on a daily basis to review and release export orders in a timely manner; conducting initial restricted party compliance reviews received from business units; tracking status and approvals; generating files and records; and responding to requests for information and analysis; working with customs brokers on import/export classifications and custom documents; and; reviewing and creating Free Trade certificates. You will have regular and direct contact with stakeholders across the global business.
This role can offer the successful candidate excellent prospects and the potential to progress to a senior level over time.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude and excellent attention to detail who enjoys undertaking administrative duties and can do so with precision. The ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritise tasks, and display sound professional judgement is imperative.
Ideally, you will have at least 12 months’ trade compliance experience. However, we would also be keen to speak to bright and ambitious paralegals or junior compliance assistants who have a genuine interest in forging a successful career in this field.
What Else Should You Know?
The business has offices in both West Yorkshire and the North East of England from which the successful candidate may work. Remote working may also be considered for the right candidate.
Whilst candidates with previous trade compliance experience are preferred, those without such experience will be provided with on-the-job training.
