Haggerty Jaques is proud to be working on behalf of this major international organisation to recruit a paralegal into its global risk management team as an Assistant Contract Reviewer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their legal career.
About the Role
As an Assistant Contract Reviewer, you will help operational teams enter into agreements with clients and suppliers, ensuring that risks are understood and managed appropriately. With support from the wider team, you’ll play a key part in facilitating efficient contract processes and enhancing internal risk controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess commercial contracts, with guidance from senior team members
- Liaise with insurance brokers regarding professional indemnity and general insurance matters
- Provide ad hoc advice on contract queries to internal stakeholders
- Assist in the contract risk management process, ensuring efficient turnaround times
- Contribute to improvements in risk tools, systems, and internal processes
- Support compliance
The Ideal Candidate
This role requires a bright, enthusiastic and capable Law graduate - or someone who is currently working as a paralegal and has a desire to develop commercial contracts expertise. The team is looking to appoint someone as soon as possible.
You must have:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Law or a related subject (or equivalent legal qualification)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, team-focused attitude and a willingness to learn
- Solid administrative and IT skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to commute to the team's North Leeds-based office. There is nearby parking. Please note that the office is close to a bus route but not within a reasonable distance of a train station.
