What you’ll do: Hagerty UK is a well-established classic and collector car insurance company in the UK. In early July, an acquisition of a highly regarded motorcycle insurance broker will be completed. The target is approximately 3x bigger than Hagerty in the UK with around 155 employees, two premises, an in-house IT system and a large call centre. It is a full function business with finance, commercial, technology, Human Resources and Customer Operations departments.

Over the first 12 months post-acquisition, there is planned to be an integration of the two businesses, enabling revenue growth synergies through a harmonised approach and cost-saving efficiencies through a reduction in resources where roles are duplicative, elimination of one of the premises and some process alignment reducing overlap. In addition, the target is part way through a major IT re-platforming programme which runs until mid-2027. The successful completion of this programme is essential to the acquisition business case.

We are looking for an individual to lead the integration project, including overseeing the IT re-platforming on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This person will report directly to the Managing Director with a dotted reporting line to the Digital and Technology Director for the IT part of the remit. There will also be a reporting requirement through Hagerty Corporate Development who are overseeing the acquisition. This role is crucial to the seamless integration of the two businesses and to the successful realisation of the synergies and benefits of the acquisition.

Qualifications:

  • A senior individual able to run a large change project
  • Experience of business integrations
  • Superior project management skills
  • Excellent reporting capabilities
  • An ability to cut through red tape to achieve the best outcomes
  • An empathetic approach to resources impacted by the integration
  • A background in IT change projects

Other things to note:

This position is open to U.K. remote work but will require weekly travel to the Bicester office. Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
