We currently have an exciting and rewarding opportunity available for a Support Worker to join our team, providing a floating support service across the Vale of Glamorgan. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting people to maintain their independence and sustain their tenancies within their own homes. This role involves delivering housing-related support to individuals, including older people and those with additional or complex needs. You will work in a psychologically informed environment, helping people build the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently.

This is a part-time, permanent role working 14 hours per week, and flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. £13.09 per hour. Fully paid induction and training programme. DBS check paid by Hafod. Social Care Wales registration fee reimbursed by Hafod (*if required). What you'll do

  • You will provide housing-related support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their accommodation and develop independent living skills.
  • This includes supporting with budgeting, tenancy management and accessing services, while encouraging social inclusion and community engagement.
  • You will work in a psychologically informed way, contribute to support plans and risk assessments, liaise with partner agencies, and maintain accurate records.

What you'll need

  • You will have experience supporting people with complex needs such as mental health, physical disabilities or older people, along with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • You should be able to work independently, manage challenges calmly, and take a person-centred, empathetic approach.
  • Basic IT skills are important, and knowledge of housing support or a Social Care qualification is desirable but not essential.
