Make a difference every day as a Project Surveyor at Hafod. We're looking for an experienced and motivated Project Surveyor to join our Assets and Decarbonisation team. This is a key role that helps improve homes and communities across South Wales by delivering planned investment, refurbishment and decarbonisation projects that enhance the quality, sustainability and energy efficiency of our housing stock. You'll act as a vital link between our tenants, contractors and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. From procuring contracts and managing contractors through to monitoring budgets and ensuring customer satisfaction, you'll play an important part in helping us invest for a better future.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong surveying and project management experience who is passionate about improving homes while delivering value for money and excellent customer outcomes. This is a permanent full-time 36 hours per week job opportunity with the option to work 9 days per fortnight. This role involves travelling independently across our properties and project sites as part of day-to-day duties. Because of this, you'll need to hold a full, valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. If you use your own vehicle for work, you'll also need appropriate business-use insurance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver planned investment, improvement and decarbonisation projects from inception through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance and value for money.
  • Procure, manage and monitor contractors and consultants, ensuring performance targets, quality standards and project deadlines are achieved.
  • Undertake surveys, prepare specifications, tender documentation and contract information to support effective project delivery.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditure and contractor valuations, ensuring financial control and accurate forecasting throughout project lifecycles.
  • Work closely with tenants and stakeholders, providing excellent communication and ensuring customer feedback, enquiries and complaints are managed effectively.

What you’ll bring:

  • HNC/HND or Degree qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Experience of surveying, project delivery, contract management and preparing specifications and tender documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry legislation including CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and property compliance requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.

It would be advantageous if you hold, or are working towards, professional qualifications such as RICS membership, Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinator or Domestic Energy Assessor accreditation.

Interested in applying? Submit your application online. We’ll review all applications and if you’re shortlisted, we’ll get in touch to arrange an interview at St.Hilary Court, Cardiff. If you’re successful at the end of the recruitment process, we’ll offer you the role and begin your pre-employment checks. This includes confirming your right to work and completing an enhanced DBS check, which we’ll organise and pay for.

We’re committed to ensuring a fair and inclusive recruitment process. If you need any reasonable adjustments or support at any stage, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
