We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our growing Procurement Team. If you’re passionate about delivering value for money, driving compliant and effective procurement, and building great relationships with stakeholders and suppliers — we’d love to hear from you!

You’ll lead tender activity, support contract management, and help shape best practice across the organisation. This is a fixed term 18 months full-time opportunity with the option to work a 9-day fortnight – have a day off every other week!

As a not-for-profit organisation and leading provider of housing, care and support services in south Wales, Hafod’s goal is to deliver high-quality affordable homes and support for people to maintain their independence. Our Procurement Team supports this by ensuring we deliver compliant, strategic and value-driven procurement activities that enable colleagues to provide excellent services across Hafod.

What you’ll do:

As part of our Procurement Team, you’ll manage end-to-end procurement activity to help us deliver high-quality, compliant and value-for-money outcomes. You will lead tender exercises, develop specifications, evaluate supplier submissions, negotiate contracts and support effective contract management. You’ll be a key point of contact for colleagues across Hafod, providing guidance, training and hands-on support to ensure procurement activity aligns with the Procurement Act 2023, Public Contracts Regulations, Welsh Government policy frameworks and Hafod’s internal procedures.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience managing procurement activity in a public sector or regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of Welsh procurement frameworks, Sell2Wales, eTenderWales and the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience advising or coaching colleagues.
  • The ability to analyze spend and supplier performance data, identify risks and recommend improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex procurement requirements clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
