Your new role:
The role of Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for H&S across our entire UK business working with a voluntary committee of H&S representatives. You will act as the subject matter expert, maintaining health and safety compliance according to relevant legislation, ensuring we provide a safe working environment across our office, warehouses and mobile and remote environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of external annual management system audits
- Ensure that Hafele’s emergency preparedness and response is managed suitably and sufficiently within reasonably practicable guidelines
- Ensure all accidents, incidents and near miss statistics are recorded and analysed to identify trends and improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements for consultation within the workforce by facilitating regular Health and Safety Committee meetings
- Ensure all areas of the business are suitably risk assessed and prioritised according to risk rating
- Provide regular feedback to the Management Leadership Team at quarterly meetings
- Coordination of any new health and safety initiative projects
- Coach and mentor the H&S Apprentice to see them through their apprenticeship and exposure to relevant H&S topics
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Awareness of relevant H&S legislation or any other relevant legislation
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Experience of introducing a safety culture change programme
- Extensive knowledge and experience in conducting all types of risk assessment
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 management system
- Experience in creation of policies and procedures
- Comfortable in presenting to groups, ranging from board meetings to companywide conferences
- Passionate about challenging the perception of health and safety
- A willingness towards continuous personal development

This is a full-time, permanent position. Core hours of work are 8:45am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, however, flexibility will be required for this role. The role is site based at our office and warehouses in Rugby, Warwickshire.
