Haeata Community Campus is an urban area school located in the East of Christchurch. We have an exciting opportunity available for a physical education/health kaiako/teacher to join our year 9-13 team for a short-term, fixed-term placement during Term 3, while a staff member is on approved leave.
The ideal candidate will be culturally aware and enjoy the challenge of working within a modern learning environment with a focus on ākonga/student-centred learning. This position is suitable for either PCT or experienced teachers who are currently registered with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability and confidence teaching Year 9-13.
- Ability to teach senior physical education/health and supporting subjects.
- Experience with planning and delivering integrated learning programmes for Year 9-10.
- A commitment to providing extra-curricular opportunities for ākonga.
- Sound organisational skills and details-oriented approach.
- Strong pastoral skills to support in the role of puna ako kaiako/form teacher.
- Sound communication skills to support ākonga, whānau and kaimahi.
