Responsible for the effective management of goods inwards, storage, and distribution of materials to support production. Ensure accurate stock control, timely dispatch, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and logistics function.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and goods, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Store materials efficiently, maintaining accurate stock levels and records.
- Pick, pack, and distribute materials to production lines/site deliveries in line with operational schedules.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Liaise closely with the production team to ensure materials are available when required, avoiding downtime.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
- Assist in the implementation of inventory control measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Process stock transactions using ERP systems and maintain accurate records.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or stock shortages promptly and support resolution efforts.
- Liaise with suppliers and couriers to ensure smooth deliveries and shipments.
- Work with internal departments such as maintenance, quality, and HR to support operational requirements.
- Undertake any other duties within the capabilities of the job holder as required by senior management.
Qualifications
- Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance/Combi) desirable.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Warehouse Operations preferred.
- Health & Safety training (such as Manual Handling, COSHH) desirable.
Experience
- Experience in warehouse, stores, or logistics roles.
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory management systems.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Computer literacy, including ERP/WMS systems.
