Head of Business and Professional Services (Apprenticeships) – Haddon Training Ltd
We’re looking for a results‑focused Head of Business and Professional Services to lead the growth and expansion of this key portfolio. You’ll drive revenue growth, increase market share across Business, Professional Services, and Digital Skills programmes, and develop new opportunities within the Sport and Active Leisure sector.
As a senior leader, you’ll turn strategic ambitions into measurable success. You’ll lead high‑performing teams, strengthen employer relationships, and ensure that our programmes deliver exceptional learner outcomes. With your commercial insight and passion for innovation, you’ll shape our offer to meet evolving workforce needs — from digital transformation in business to leadership and customer excellence in professional and sport environments.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Market Expansion – Design and deliver a clear growth strategy for the Business and Sport portfolio, aligned with organisational ambitions; proactively identify, assess, and secure new business opportunities in both established and emerging markets.
- Operational Excellence & Delivery – Lead delivery teams to provide high‑quality, scalable training solutions; ensure all programmes meet regulatory, compliance, and quality standards while remaining commercially competitive; drive employer and learner satisfaction; oversee development of new programmes that respond to employer demand and open fresh revenue streams.
- Commercial Impact – Take ownership of growth targets, including learner numbers, employer partnerships, and revenue generation; report regularly on progress against strategic and financial objectives to the Senior Leadership Team; ensure resources are aligned effectively to deliver maximum impact and return on investment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of Work Based Learning Apprenticeships and funding streams
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure and deadlines whilst maintaining the organisation’s values
- Management qualification or willingness to work towards a recognised qualification
- Significant leadership and management experience at a senior level
- In‑depth knowledge of assessing and IQA
- Demonstrable success in growing a business portfolio within training, education, or related industries
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to generate revenue and secure new partnerships
- In‑depth knowledge of the Sport sector, including opportunities within leisure, fitness, and allied industries
- Excellent relationship‑building, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead and deliver strategy through to successful operational outcomes

- Passionate about achieving high levels of excellence in education, learning and development

Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated experience of partnership working with a range of organisations
- Quality Assurance experience, Ofsted inspection experience and knowledge of quality frameworks
- Experience of working with apprenticeship funding rules and work‑based learning
- Established professional network in the Sport and Business sectors
- PGCE or equivalent
- Coaching qualification
