Had Fab is scaling fast, delivering major infrastructure and energy projects across the UK. To support this growth, we’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager who wants real ownership of a busy, high impact site. This is a fully site-based role. You’ll be on the floor every day, leading a small maintenance team while staying directly involved in fault finding, repairs and improvements.
The role involves taking charge of all mechanical, electrical and facilities maintenance across our Tranent site. From planned maintenance to urgent breakdowns, you’ll keep plant and machinery running safely, reliably and efficiently in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment.
What you’ll do:
- Drive and deliver a strong planned maintenance programme
- Respond to breakdowns and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Own maintenance records, statutory inspections and compliance
- Manage contractors and specialist suppliers
- Lead, coach and support the maintenance team day to day
- Work closely with operations and QHSE
- Keep workshops safe, organised and efficient
About you:
You’re a practical, technically strong maintenance professional from a manufacturing or industrial background. You like being on site solving problems, improving systems and leading by example.
You’ll bring:
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic ability
- Experience planning and running PPM schedules
- Confidence leading a small team
- Good IT and maintenance system skills
