Estimator to join our growing Commercial & Estimating team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful UK fabrication business, work on significant projects and play a key role in turning new opportunities into winning proposals.

THE ROLE

As an Estimator, you’ll work closely with our Estimating & Commercial Manager and wider team to turn customer enquiries and opportunities into competitive, commercially strong proposals.

You’ll be responsible for pricing, delivery and commercial terms while ensuring our proposals meet customer requirements and the high standards expected at Had Fab.

  • Prepare and submit tender bids from customer drawings, specifications and enquiry documents
  • Develop accurate estimates, cost models and competitive pricing
  • Build strong customer relationships and understand their requirements
  • Identify value-added solutions that benefit both our customers and Had Fab
  • Maintain bid tracking, reporting and supporting documentation
  • Peer review estimates to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to achieve the best combination of price, quality and delivery
  • Prepare professional quotation letters, including relevant clarifications
  • Manage customer communication relating to changes in scope, cost or schedule
  • Check specifications and drawings against tender documentation
  • Maximise value while maintaining strong cost control
  • Keep CRM information accurate and up to date for forecasting and planning
  • Work with the wider team to continually improve our estimating processes and capabilities
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with

  • Strong technical knowledge of steel fabrication and manufacturing
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
  • Estimating and cost-modelling experience
  • Experience with ERP systems within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the sales process
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
  • A proactive mindset and a genuine drive to win business
