About Hackstons

Hackstons is a London-based specialist in fine and rare spirits and wine, serving a discerning clientele in the UK and around the world. Our collection spans rare whisky bottlings, Grand Cru wines and exceptional old and rare bottles. Each one is chosen with care for its quality, provenance and heritage. We are a close-knit, ambitious team that cares about the details, and we are looking for someone who shares that standard to help bring our collection to a wider audience.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded Marketing & E-Commerce Executive to drive campaigns across our online store. This is a hybrid role, around two-thirds of your time will focus on marketing, and around one-third on the day-to-day running of our website. Reporting to the E-Commerce Manager, you will work alongside our external paid media agency and collaborate closely with our in-house creative studio.

Prior e-commerce operations experience is not required for the website side of the role: full training on our platform and processes will be provided. What matters most is a sharp eye for detail and a genuine appreciation of how a luxury brand should look and feel online.

Key Responsibilities: From Day One

Email Marketing & Lifecycle Automation

  • Build, execute, and send regular newsletters and automated lifecycle email journeys.
  • Track, analyse, and report on campaign and lifecycle performance.

Organic Social Media & Content

  • Plan, create, and publish organic social media content.
  • Compile comprehensive organic social media performance reports.
  • Lead blogger and influencer outreach strategy.
  • Ad-hoc: provide support for press launches and in-store retail events.
  • Ad-hoc: coordinate on-set photo and video shoots with the internal studio team.

Product Merchandising & On-Site Search

  • Manage end-to-end online product merchandising, ensuring correct categorisation, cross-selling, upselling, and visual alignment with luxury brand standards.
  • Maintain and help optimise site search, taxonomy, filters, and product recommendations.

Site Management & Promotions

  • Own day-to-day site administration and content updates across all web properties (Homepage, Category, Product, Landing and Event pages).
  • Execute and manage digital promotions, promotional codes, tags, sitewide banners, and seasonal campaign updates, ensuring they align with the email and social media calendar.
  • Maintain sitewide navigation, menu structures, and page layouts.

Key Responsibilities: Future Growth

The following responsibilities are not part of the role at launch. You will take them on a few months after joining, once you are fully settled into your core responsibilities.

  • Partner directly with the E-Commerce Manager to build and launch brand-new marketing channels from scratch, including Affiliate Marketing, Loyalty Programmes, and Referral Programmes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Management: Report directly to the E-Commerce Manager on channel performance, site updates, campaign optimisation, and growth roadmaps.
  • Direct Team: Work alongside our external paid media agency.
  • In-House Creative Studio: Partner directly with content writers, photographers/videographers, and graphic designers to brief and deliver visual assets and copy, and upload them to the site.
  • Ad-Hoc: Assist wider store teams with ad-hoc activations and live press events.

Profile & Requirements

Must-haves

  • 1-3 years of hands-on marketing experience, ideally within retail, luxury, fine spirits, or premium lifestyle brands.
  • Proven track record in building, deploying, and reporting on email marketing campaigns and automated lifecycle workflows (Klaviyo, Ometria, etc).
  • Experience managing and scheduling organic social media channels with a strong eye for visual content.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to turn campaign data and reports into actionable optimisation strategies.
  • Confident with digital tools, and able to learn a website content management system.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior exposure to setting up or running affiliate, referral, or loyalty programmes.
  • Hands-on experience with an e-commerce platform (WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento)
  • A background in, or passion for, whisky, fine spirits, or luxury retail.
  • Experience executing influencer/blogger outreach.
  • Experience coordinating content production, including briefing and overseeing photography/videography shoots.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment (adapt quickly and take end-to-end ownership).

What We Offer

  • Company pension, 21 days holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Eligibility for our Cask Loyalty Programme (gifted casks at 3, 5 and 10 years)
  • Staff discount in our Knightsbridge retail experience
