We are looking to appoint a Room Leader. We seek a candidate with strong leadership and management skills, and experience in a childcare setting is essential. The successful applicant will be an effective communicator with excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to work. Requirements include:
- A qualification in Childcare and Education Level 3 or above.
- Post-qualification and supervisory experience are desirable.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, as the centre operates a shift system.
Primary duties include:
- Supervising staff within your room.
- Supporting colleagues in developing practice according to the EYFS.
- Staff deployment.
- Ensuring staff are up-to-date with planning, reviews, and assessments.
- Attending room leader meetings and participating in middle leadership team.
- Being responsible for opening and closing the building in the absence of the Childrens Centre and Early Years Lead and SCCO.
- Collaborating with professionals such as Health Visitors, Educational Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech Therapists, and the Senior Leadership Team as needed.
This position is ideal for an experienced professional eager to be an integral part of a team providing outstanding services to diverse families. Significant experience in a culturally diverse educational childcare environment is essential. Good interpersonal, relationship-building, and assessment skills are required. An NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent is essential. Flexibility in working hours is required due to the shift system.
