We are seeking a qualified social worker for the role of Senior Practitioner to join our growing team within Preparing for Adulthood Service (PfA) which will be key to providing quality social work to the people of Hackney. You will join our dynamic, integrated multi-disciplinary community service which provides specialist health and social care services to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in Hackney.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to practitioners at all levels of their career development.
  • Utilise supervisory skills and deputise for the Team Manager to help the team achieve the very best outcomes for our residents.
  • Experience the breadth of social work from Care Act (2014) assessments and safeguarding through to complex court of protection work and mental health admissions.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Social Worker and registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within statutory Adult Services, including providing supervisory / management support to social work practitioners.
  • Experience working with those with diagnoses of learning disability and or autism is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of the key principles of the Care Act, the Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding as well as all other relevant legislation relating to the provision of services for adults with a learning disability.
  • Commitment to your own and your supervisees' social work education and integrated working across health and social care.

  • Enhanced DBS is required.
