Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of the Licensing Processing Team
  • Provide technical oversight and supervision to Licensing Technical Officers
  • Oversee the processing and issuing of HMO and Selective Licensing applications
  • Provide technical advice to officers, landlords, managing agents, tenants and residents
  • Monitor workloads, performance and service standards across the team
  • Support continuous improvement, system development and process efficiencies
  • Ensure licensing applications are processed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Deputise for the Team Manager when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience processing housing licensing applications, including HMO and Selective Licensing
  • Experience supervising staff or supporting teams within a regulatory, housing or local authority environment
  • Strong knowledge of housing licensing legislation and regulatory processes
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience managing competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage complex or sensitive enquiries
  • Experience using licensing systems, databases and digital platforms
  • Relevant housing, regulatory or public administration qualifications or equivalent experience are essential
