Hackney SEND Travel Assistance Service plays a crucial role in ensuring children with significant and complex Special Educational Needs can get to and from school easily and safely – and that’s where you come in.
Providing a reliable and high quality transport service, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe travel of children, goods and all necessary equipment. The service operates during the school term so you’ll need to be flexible, organised and willing to go the extra mile to deliver a great service, excellent timekeeping and attendance is a must the successful candidate will be required to work in a multicultural diverse team where teamwork is key whilst delivering an optimal service with a hands on caring approach, your daily task will require you to follow safety rules and regulation and maintain a high professional standard at all times.
As well as holding a clean PCV Category D licence, Driver DQC card and a digital tacho card. You will be expected to go through an ‘Enhanced CRB Clearance check’ at our cost. Being capable of checking your vehicle regularly for road-worthiness and reporting any defects. You should also be prepared to take the ‘First Aid’ and other relevant training as necessary. Exposure to working with passengers with special needs would be an advantage, however it will be your willingness to assist children whenever you’re needed that will really impress us.
