The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

Location: 136-142 Lower Clapton Road, various locations in the Borough. This role is predominantly 0900 – 1700 Monday to Friday, with an expectation to work some weekends where there is an operational need.

Hackney Parking Services are often leading the way in the parking industry with a focus on best practices and performance. Hackney Council has been the number one borough in Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) appeals for two years running. The Council was one of the first in the country to implement School Streets and Ultra Low Emission Zones, all enforced by the parking enforcement team. Recently, the Council has brought in-house the parking enforcement operations after over two decades of outsourcing.

An amazing opportunity has arisen to recruit into brand new positions that will be pivotal in the creation, delivery, and implementation of the newly insourced parking enforcement service.

Responsibilities:
  • You will have the necessary communication and networking skills to work directly with residents and key partnering services.
  • Your “can do” ethos, unparalleled organisational skills, problem-solving abilities, and exceptional skills in dealing with conflict will empower you to manage a varied caseload and collaborate with others to address support needs and achieve positive outcomes.
  • You will have demonstrable experience of working in an agile context and the ability to work routinely from different locations across Hackney, outdoors in all weather.
  • You will undertake detailed investigations: visiting sites, inspecting vehicles, gathering evidence, preparing statements, and attending court.
  • You will support the service in tackling all types of nuisance vehicles and make referrals for the relevant departments regarding any linked anti-social behaviour.
  • Regular attendance to Court is required; a working knowledge of nuisance vehicle legislation and other relevant law is desirable, though training will be provided.
  • Experience or knowledge of dealing with anti-social behaviour or nuisance vehicles, early intervention, and the necessary tools and powers, preferably within a public sector background.
  • You will work in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service and other enforcement agencies.
  • You should be a confident communicator, able to handle sensitive issues and confrontational behaviour.
Qualifications:
  • You must be able to prioritise your own workload, identify and mitigate risk, and ensure performance targets are met.
  • Experience of using electronic case management systems and a variety of other software is advantageous.
  • This post will require an SIA Door Supervisor certification.
  • You will be required to successfully pass security vetting through DBS checks to be considered for this post.
