Accelerate Personnel is recruiting a highly skilled Multi‑Skilled Mechanic to join a team in Norwich with occasional travel across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing our forklift fleet (predominantly JCB, Linde and Jungheinrich), performing welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs, and delivering high‑quality work as part of a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostics, repairs and servicing on counter‑balance forklifts, VNA’s, telehandlers and bucket loaders.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to maintain and repair plant.
- Travel to Harlow (and other sites) weekly to carry out service and repair work efficiently and safely.
- Plan and conduct planned preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and time on jobs.
- Provide excellent internal customer service and build strong relationships with critical departments.
- Work alongside other engineers to perform appropriate duties.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is operating safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet service targets and deadlines.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a multi‑skilled mechanic, ideally with JCB or other industrial/ agricultural machinery as the dominant role.
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to diagnose faults and conduct repairs.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites.
- Strong communication skills, liaising effectively with internal business functions and team members.
Desirable Skills
- Mechanical qualification.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the mechanical/industrial sector.
- Electrical experience (preferred but not essential).
