Accelerate Personnel are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client for an exciting new Temp-Perm job opportunity. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Mechanic to join their team based in Norwich, with occasional travel across the UK. You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of our forklift fleet (JCB predominantly but also Linde and Jungheinrich). You will be involved in welding, fabrication, and conducting mechanical repairs, so a diverse skill set is essential.
The role requires an initiative-taking, hands-on approach and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to other business sites across the UK, providing an excellent engineering service while working as part of a team or independently.
Responsibilities- Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and servicing on a range of Counterbalance forklift trucks, VNA’s, Telehandlers & Bucket loaders.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to maintain and repair plant.
- Weekly travel to Harlow to carry out service and repair work, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Actively plan and conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and time on jobs.
- Provide excellent internal customer service and build strong internal relationships with business-critical departments.
- Work alongside other engineers to perform appropriate duties.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is operating effectively and safely.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times, along with other business-critical certifications.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet service targets and deadlines.
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled mechanic ideally with JCB’s or other industrial/agricultural machinery as their dominant role.
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to diagnose faults and conduct repairs.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal business functions and team members effectively.

- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the mechanical/industrial sector.
- Electrical experience (preferred, but not essential).
- Competitive salary of £17.50 per hour.
- Temp-Perm Role.
- 50 hours per week.
- Overtime available.
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays.
- Work van provided for travel to and from business locations following successful completion of the probationary period.
