Are you an experienced Stress Analysis Engineer with a background in aircraft structures? Do you want to lead teams and develop the engineers of the future? As the Lead Structural Analysis Engineer at our Yeovil site within the Helicopter Division, you will see your structural designs evolve from a 3‑D concept through installation and flight, contributing to the growth of our future capabilities.
You will be responsible for developing structural design solutions alongside other engineering departments and key stakeholders across our wide product range, which includes conventional helicopters, tilt‑rotors, and unmanned air systems. The analysis team supports both the UK and Italian geographies, so although based in the UK, you have opportunities to work on our full product range. This position requires a minimum of three days per week on site, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
Your Impact
As part of the Structures Team, you will coordinate, create, and deliver challenging static and dynamic analysis & test activities, including airworthiness compliance documentation, in collaboration with Design, Analysis, Certification, Qualification, and Manufacturing. Utilize your analysis skills to innovate and mentor while leading teams of Structural Engineers to achieve fit‑for‑purpose design solutions.
What You’ll Bring

- Experience in analyzing complex engineering structures
- Expert knowledge in conventional (hand calculation) and numerical (finite element) techniques for static analysis
- Working knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance
- Knowledge of composite materials and analysis principles
Advantageous In This Role Are
- Knowledge of non‑linear dynamic solutions such as crash modelling and impact
- Evidence of working in a regulated environment with knowledge of airworthiness regulations (e.g., MAA, EASA, or FAA)
- CS27 / CS29 experience
Also Desirable Would Be Knowledge Of
- MSC NASTRAN
- Altair HyperMesh
- MathCAD
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite
