The Workforce Management Lead is part of a small team that will manage and help optimise Heathrow’s end-to-end workforce planning controls and governance, providing an ongoing accurate view of its workforce and capabilities, informing strategic workforce decisions. It has a significant day-to-day element, running and maintaining our workforce planning controls, and the role plays a key part in supporting the implementation of large-scale people change and OD/OE programmes, as well as in embedding new technologies and automation, bringing best practice into how Heathrow performs this key OE function. By having a tight grip on our workforce and organisational analytics, the business is better able to make strategic workforce planning decisions that help Heathrow achieve its business vision.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve workforce planning controls and governance to maintain a real-time, accurate view of Heathrow’s organisation.
- Maintain and continuously update the organisation baseline, working with HRBPs, Reward and Data teams to ensure data accuracy (incl. contingent labour and temporary roles).
- Facilitate role change governance processes, ensuring high-quality information supports effective decision‑making.
- Deliver workforce planning input into the Business Planning process, including timelines, governance, reporting and alignment with Finance.
- Ensure alignment between HR data, the organisation baseline and people cost models in partnership with Finance.
- Drive continuous improvement, simplification and systematisation of workforce planning tools, processes and reporting, incorporating external best practice and trends.
- Provide data‑led insights and analysis to identify workforce trends and inform strategic workforce planning.
- Support delivery of organisation design, effectiveness and large‑scale people change programmes.
Qualifications
- Proven strong Excel and data skills, and some experience of (or ability to learn) data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Personal flexibility, agility and resilience to adapt to changing organisational needs.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business, an ability to challenge appropriately and to be able to hold others to account.
- Excellent data skills and an analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret and present data in an engaging and meaningful way to various stakeholders including Directors.
- Self‑starting and a problem solver who can identify and develop opportunities to improve ways of working and actively seeks learning and knowledge to help develop both personal and organisational knowledge.
- Extremely well organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Have an aptitude to be able to understand and learn new specialist workforce management tools.
