Vanguard Capital Management’s (VCM) Investment Stewardship program focuses on promoting long‑term shareholder returns by encouraging good governance in companies where our funds invest. We engage with portfolio company directors and executives to learn about their governance practices, share our perspective on governance practices that contribute to long‑term returns, vote proxies at shareholder meetings, and promote these practices through materials and industry participation.

Details Vanguard Capital Management (VCM) seeks an analyst to join its Investment Stewardship team. The analyst supports long‑term investor value by researching and voting proxies, and by engaging with portfolio companies on governance matters. As an Analyst, you will analyze governance risks, develop proxy voting recommendations aligned with VCM funds’ guidelines, and support engagement with company boards and executives. You will work closely with internal partners and contribute to initiatives to improve governance outcomes and reduce risk across our funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research and proxy voting analysis for portfolio companies.
  • Develop recommendations aligned with VCM’s proxy voting guidelines.
  • Support portfolio company engagement on governance topics by preparing research and documenting notes from meetings.
  • Contribute to research projects on corporate governance topics and projects to improve outcomes, efficiency and risk management.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

What We’re Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Proven experience in business or investments.
  • Strong interest in corporate governance, stewardship and risk oversight.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluency in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin or another major business language is a plus.

Special Factors

Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position. This position is hybrid and requires you to work in the office location Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
