As a Cloud Platform Technical Lead, you will work with team members and wider stakeholders to develop, operate and enhance our Google Cloud platform. The Cloud platform team are responsible for focusing on the continued management, operation, and enhancement of our global services such as our Google Cloud platform and Cloudflare services. We help teams to adopt Cloud services in the correct way, and ensure they benefit from the inherent advantage of public Cloud and managed services, to deliver secure and reliable services, faster. You will be highly technical and have the ability to solve complex Cloud problems, working both internally and externally to the team to deliver initiatives, alongside the operation and improvement of our existing Cloud services and products. This includes the writing, reviewing, and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) managed resources. You will act as a key escalation point and provide technical guidance to team members, helping to drive the continued adoption of our self-serve operating model. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Qualifications

  • Extensive exposure to public cloud at scale.
  • Extensive experience of Kubernetes, including deployment, management and troubleshooting of Kubernetes environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of deploying and managing technology platforms, ideally public Cloud.
  • Experience of working with Infrastructure as Code and automation pipelines such as Terraform, git, GitLab, CI and CD.
  • Knowledge of GitOps technology.
  • Experience of working in a technology focused organisation and delivering complex technical projects.
  • Commercial experience working in operational infrastructure roles ideally with On-Call.
  • Adept at working with project managers and other delivery teams to ensure work is planned and timescales are clear.
  • Software development experience is preferable, for example the use of Go.

  • Acting as a technical key escalation point as required.
  • Continuing to learn and stay up to date for required Cloud services and technologies.
