You will operate at the very core of Wise, working on services that handle every single international payment, meaning your work will directly power our global infrastructure and have a massive impact on the Wise Platform. Our mission is to make payment integration effortless for partners by absorbing complexity so they don't have to. We achieve this through clear, consistent, and self-explanatory APIs, ensuring partners can go from zero to a live integration with minimal friction.
Core Focus- Platform Architecture: Driving the technical vision to decouple our core payment processing platform from external-facing partner APIs. By breaking the dependency between external interfaces and internal systems, you will empower teams to evolve and innovate without constraints.
- Reducing Complexity: Ensuring our integration interfaces expose only required and actionable information to effectively reduce complexity for our users.
- Defining Standards: Establishing clear contracts for internal platform integration and building out standardized, scalable solutions for platform partners to receive transfers seamlessly.
- Technical Leadership: Leading complex, cross-team projects and contributing to architecture decisions by defining key technical opinions and writing Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
- A strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills to drive cross-team projects.
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player, frequently engaging in cross-team efforts.
- The ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value.
- Curiosity and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.
- Adherence to and advocacy for best coding practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews.
- A proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers.
