hackajob is collaborating with a leading client in the AI space and is looking for experienced Biology PhD professionals to contribute to exciting project-based AI opportunities. This is project-based work, giving you the flexibility to contribute on your own schedule while working on meaningful, well-compensated tasks.

We're building the frontier of AI reasoning. That requires people who operate at the frontier of biology. We're hiring PhD researchers in the life sciences to create benchmark-grade problems that challenge the limits of state-of-the-art language models.

What you'll do:

  • Generate original, graduate-level Q&A problems in your specialist domain — problems with clear, fully-worked step-by-step solutions that expose substantive reasoning failures in advanced AI. This is not prompt engineering. It requires deep domain expertise and the ability to author problems that are genuinely novel, non-searchable, and scientifically rigorous.

Who we're looking for:

  • PhD (completed or ABD) in a Biology discipline
  • Preferred but not mandatory: prior experience in AI data annotation, preferably in STEM reasoning workflows
  • Ability to author original, non-searchable graduate-level problems
  • Strong written English; solutions must be peer-reviewer quality

Target specialisations: Molecular & Cell Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Neurobiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Ecology, Evolution

This is contract work with flexible hours. Output is reviewed for scientific accuracy, problem originality, and the extent to which solutions challenge the model's reasoning at a structural level. If your background is in rigorous biological research and you want your expertise to directly shape how the next generation of AI thinks, we want to hear from you.
