Location: Office based - Just off M1 between Leeds and Sheffield

Role: Permanent - Software Developer

Remuneration: £45K to £60K, dependant on experience and ability + pension + performance related bonus

Experience: Must have a minimum of 8 years, full time experience, writing code in a commercial environment, and ideally have some experience of managing a small team.

Overview: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a senior software developer to take the next step up the ladder as a Tech Lead managing a small, dynamic team of development Engineers working on bespoke manufacturing equipment from new state of the art premises just off the M1 between Sheffield and Leeds.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a small team following agile practices to allow rapid development and customer satisfaction
  • Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programmes from initial concept through deployment in customer factories to post installation customer support
  • Testing and evaluating new and existing programmes
  • Ensuring the usability and practicality of applications
  • Maintaining and upgrading existing software systems
  • Completing feasibility assessments to enhance system functionality or performance including reviews of cross platform migrations

  • Jira work management (or similar)

  • Performing remote and on-site testing and customer training

  • Some familiarity with C++ and working in a Linux Environment would be useful, but not a requirement

About the Role: Applicants will work closely with the Software Engineering Manager, working in conjunction with them to ensure the team delivers on a wide range of projects, developing new products and enhancing existing ones.
