Joining the Location and Portfolio Planning team at Sainsbury's as a Senior Spatial Analyst means being at the forefront of driving spatial analytics and influencing property and investment strategies in a leading retail organisation. What You’ll Do
- You will leverage your analytical and spatial data skills to generate new insights and develop data products, platforms, and tools.
- Your focus will be on creating best‑in‑class spatial analytics products and insights, such as demographic segmentations and drive‑time catchments, to inform Sainsbury's property and investment strategy.
- Collaborating with various teams, both internally and externally, you will contribute to driving the geospatial data and technology strategy.
Who You Are
- You’re an experienced professional with proven expertise in spatial analysis, analytics and GIS, ideally in a retail and/or property context.
- With a strong background in either SQL, Alteryx, ArcGIS, and/or Tableau.
- Your logical mindset, problem‑solving abilities, and self‑motivation drive you to continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience applying spatial analytics and GIS techniques to generate insights that inform property, location or investment decision‑making.
- Proven ability to develop spatial data products, tools or platforms, such as demographic segmentations, catchment models or drive‑time analyses.
- Evidence of working with spatial and analytical technologies to manipulate and analyse geospatial data, including one of the following: SQL, Alteryx, ArcGIS, Tableau.
- Experience translating and communicating analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights.
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative, cross‑functional, supportive team.
