We are expanding our Middle East and Africa (MEA) expansion team and are looking for ambitious and highly skilled Senior Software Engineers to join the engineering team. You will play a crucial role in expanding our product offerings across the MEA region, covering Onboarding (Consumer & Business) and Money Movement capabilities by integrating with local partners, connecting with local payment schemes, and building seamless customer journeys across the region, while collaborating closely with our global teams, including helping to shape our global KYC/KYB and money movement systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer in one of the MEA teams, you will be a core contributor focused on building robust and scalable capabilities for Consumer and Business Onboarding and Money Movement across the MEA region. Your role involves implementing integrations with local banks, payment providers and verification vendors, connecting our platform to local payment systems, and optimising funnels to handle the complexities of cross‑country money movement within your specific area. This role requires a high level of technical and product excellence and a passion for building high‑quality, scalable and compliant solutions tailored for the unique financial infrastructure and regulatory landscape of our region.

Beyond writing good code, you will propose solid technical designs, participate in code and design reviews, and collaborate with global engineers to build the core infrastructure that unlocks and grows new regional markets.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy features and services to enable Consumer & Business Onboarding and Money Movement capabilities in existing and new markets, within your team's focus area.
  • Implement integrations with local banks, payment providers, identity/business verification vendors, and financial partners across the region.
  • Build, automate and improve FinCrime controls (AML, Fraud etc) across the region.
  • Propose and advocate for high‑quality technical designs and solutions that are scalable, reliable, and compliant with the diverse regulations across the markets.
  • Participate in code and design reviews within your team, providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate our engineering standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, designers and engineers in our other global offices, to align on product vision and technical implementation for regional expansion.
  • Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for the MEA domain.

Qualifications

  • A proactive and ambitious mindset, with a desire to take ownership and make a significant impact.
  • Autonomous team player able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with a strong track record of delivering high‑quality, scalable systems and a strong product mindset.
  • Deep technical expertise in back‑end development and microservices architecture.
  • Experience in designing and building software systems and collaborating on technical designs within a team or domain.
  • Strong ability to provide constructive feedback during code and design reviews.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to break down complex challenges.
  • Experience leveraging LLMs (e.g. Claude code) to enhance the software development lifecycle.

Nice To Have

  • Experience working on payments systems, money movement, financial integrations, Consumer and/or Business onboarding (KYC/KYB) in MEA markets.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in the FinTech or payments industry.
  • Java proficiency.
