We are building a new network for global money movements. Your role involves expanding payment methods for Wise's acquiring platform.
The Acquiring Platform team focuses on receiving payments internationally. You will help expand the current API, SDK and webhooks to support new payment methods like Google Pay, Apple Pay, PIX, UPI and additional platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify, and other ecommerce builders.
You’ll join a newly-formed team and build the infrastructure that powers Wise's merchant payment ecosystem at scale. This includes adding new payment methods, integrating with major ecommerce stores and PSPs, and designing a scalable system used by tens of thousands of merchants.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python or Go.
- Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems principles.
- Experience designing and optimizing distributed architectures is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working in product‑led companies with a strong product mindset prioritizing user needs and business goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to break down complex problems into shippable milestones that deliver value fast.
- Proven experience managing relationships with various stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of project goals and requirements.
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of database fundamentals.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Good understanding of payment systems and financial transactions.
