We’re looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our Business Pricing team. This is a unique opportunity to have a massive impact, helping a growing number of businesses around the world join and use Wise to solve their needs. The Business Pricing team is dedicated to building and helping businesses choose and manage the right account plans for their needs in a way that’s clear, easy, and delightful.
You’ll lead a team of talented engineers, collaborating daily with product managers, data analysts, and designers to continuously improve the pricing plans and experience for both new and existing customers, making them fairer, more intuitive, attractive and more scalable.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in Java or Kotlin (or other JVM based language)
- Strong experience with Spring framework, relational databases, distributed and concurrent systems (Kafka)
- Close collaboration with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, engineers and other product teams is a must have and is something to expect to happen on a daily basis
- Experience in writing testable code and with testing strategies, such as unit testing and integration testing
- Belief in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
- Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
- Strive to improve team culture and processes
- A strong product mindset and passion for customer experience, prioritising work with customers in mind and making data-driven decisions to fix customer pain‑points
- Ability to work independently on customer problems, taking responsibility and end‑to‑end ownership of projects: driving and owning them to ensure goals are met
- Onboard and find your place by understanding your team, squad and guild vision and how you can contribute
- Understand the Fintech domain and our tech culture
- Develop new features from planning to release, and monitor their adoption once live
- Go through two quarterly plannings and propose ideas to take your product further
