As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. The People team’s job is to ensure Wise has the talent and the structures to build for the future. We need a Senior Reward Manager to lead the charge for our Product & Engineering functions and spearhead our reward strategy across the APAC region.
You will be the strategic architect of reward for our tech organization and the regional lead for APAC. This is a high‑visibility role where you will influence the Leads and lead complex initiatives that directly impact our ability to attract and retain the world's best engineers and product minds.
Your Mission
- Apply your expertise across a full range of reward activities, including leading the design, planning and implementation of our compensation and benefit initiatives.
- Review and evolve the global reward philosophy for Product & Engineering, ensuring that our cash and equity (RSU) compensation elements remain competitive in the global tech market.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end reward landscape for the APAC region, managing complex legislative jurisdictions, local pay practices, and pay transparency compliance.
- Act as a trusted partner to the CTO, CPO, and regional leads, providing data‑driven narratives that guide high‑level compensation decisions and budget allocations.
- Lead high‑impact, cross‑functional projects such as the design of specialized retention schemes for niche tech roles or the harmonization of reward frameworks across new APAC markets.
- Set the methodology for benchmarking across multiple continents, establishing global standards for pay equity and regulatory compliance.
- Identify and implement systemic process improvements that take our Reward operations to world‑class, leveraging automation and advanced analytics.
- While this is a senior individual contributor, you will be expected to mentor Reward Partners and upskill the broader People team on complex reward topics.
- As the APAC region and our Prod&Eng landscape evolves, this role will also be responsible to build a team and lead it.
- Partner with multiple stakeholders to deliver the annual budget exercise and set up the annual salary review cycles for the functions and regions you oversee.
- Being a point of contact for market pricing, role evaluations and compensation and benefits analysis and recommendations.
- Monitor competitive reward trends, evaluate options and make recommendations as appropriate to help ensure that Wise policies reflect best practice.
- Develop and coordinate communications and activities designed to educate and inform Leads and employees about reward programmes.
This Role Will Give You The Opportunity To
- Lead a Critical Frontier: APAC is our fastest‑growing region; you will have the freedom to build and adapt frameworks for some of the most dynamic labor markets in the world.
- Shape the Future of Tech Comp: Work at the intersection of finance and engineering, solving the puzzle of how to reward creators in a mission‑driven, equity‑heavy environment.
- Drive Genuine Impact: We don’t do “best practice” for the sake of it; you’ll create custom solutions that work for Wise’s unique culture of autonomy and radical transparency.
Here’s a little bit about what we think you’ll need to be successful and happy in this role:
- Deep Tech & APAC Expertise: Extensive experience in Reward with a proven track record in Product and Engineering environments. You understand the nuances of tech talent markets and have navigated the complexities of APAC (e.g., India, Singapore, Japan).
- Strategic Visionary: You don’t just execute cycles; you see the “big picture” and can build multi‑year reward roadmaps that align with business expansion.
- Master of Influence: You are an exceptional communicator who can distill complex RSU models or regional tax implications into simple, persuasive narratives for senior leadership.
- Data as a Language: You are an analytical powerhouse. You use data not just to report, but to predict trends and proactively solve retention or attraction challenges before they arise.
- Resilience in Ambiguity: You’ve worked in high‑growth, fast‑paced environments and know how to maintain a steady course when priorities shift or new regulations emerge.
- Project Architect: You have led large‑scale, global reward projects from ideation through to implementation, showing a “roll‑up‑the‑sleeves” attitude when the mission requires it.
We’re people building money without borders – without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
