As a Senior Network Development Analyst at British Airways you will play a central role in shaping the future airline route network. You will do so by applying advanced analytical techniques to data from multiple sources, identifying opportunities to optimise the network through changes to frequency, fleet allocation, timings or new route development in order to maximise profitability.
Key duties include:
- Guiding procurement
- Attending route conferences worldwide to build relationships with current and future airport partners
- Working closely with the Slots and Scheduling teams to create deliverable seasonal schedules at congested airports
Successfully implementing these initiatives must support BA’s network plan and deliver measurable commercial performance. Applications at Analyst level will also be considered, with the opportunity to progress to Senior Analyst through an internal development pathway once you are established in the role.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain regional and network strategies that shape and support BA’s network plan
- Develop Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW) network plans aligned with strategy, optimising frequency, aircraft allocation and timings to maximise commercial performance across each route
- Build and maintain effective relationships across the airline, IAG group and joint businesses to facilitate ongoing network development on a seasonal or tactical basis
- Produce clear, concise, timely and accurate management information on network financial performance
- Translate performance, strategy and insights into compelling presentations for senior stakeholders, including Director level
- Represent British Airways at industry events and conferences

- Excellent working knowledge of the main techniques, processes, systems and data sources used in commercial, cost and network analysis

Your Experience
- A numerate degree or proven numerical aptitude in a similar role
- Excellent understanding of the BA network and fleet, markets and competitors
- Good understanding of aviation business, airline economics, and the commercial, operational and financial drivers of the airline, group, alliances and joint businesses
- Able to think strategically, shaping direction and translating network strategy into clear, actionable plans that drive delivery
- Proficient in financial analysis, able to interpret route results and concepts including cost allocation methodologies and revenue performance
- Good understanding of airline revenue management and pricing, and customer purchase behaviour
