We are actively recruiting motivated Project Engineering Leads (PEL's) for an opportunity to work at the forefront of UK defence engineering within our Integrated Project Team (IPT) at Leonardo in Bristol.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering aspects of the project, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget.
- Manage cross-site, multi-disciplined engineering teams, ensuring roles are clearly defined.
- Create a positive working relationship with customers and partners to deliver project capability.
- Establish and maintain good lines of communication internally across the Engineering IPT, with the IPT lead, Project Manager and Functional Heads.
- Work closely with the Systems Design Authority to keep them fully informed on technical progress, risk and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the design solution meets end-user requirements, is reliable, fully documented and works within the designated environment.
- Ensure the design solution is compatible with the business area route map.
- Control project configuration and change management to maximize design reuse.
- Support the management of suppliers and project make-or-buy decisions.
- Ensure candidate concept solutions are captured, including results of trade-off studies and end-user engagement.
- Develop the engineering team, providing mentoring, coaching, setting objectives and appraising.
