Wise is a global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Whether people and businesses are sending money across borders, spending abroad, or receiving international payments, our mission is to make lives simpler and save people money.
Wise’s mission depends on brilliant people doing their best work. This role is about building the technology foundations that help more than 7,000 Wisers stay productive, connected and focused on impact.
About the role
You’ll own the product strategy, roadmap and user experience for People Technology, shaping the systems that power our employee lifecycle. You’ll connect Wise’s strategic business needs with the evolving technology landscape — AI included — simplifying complex processes and reducing friction across the organisation. To succeed, you’ll be skilled at finding the real problem behind the symptoms, defining clear outcomes, and taking senior stakeholders on the journey from ambiguity to practical, high-impact solutions.
How We Work
Wise teams are empowered to make decisions close to the problem. We care about clear ownership, fast learning, strong partnerships and measurable impact. As Product Lead for People Technology, you’ll operate across multiple teams and senior stakeholders to shape a domain that touches every Wiser. You’ll need to create clarity where there is ambiguity, balance business needs with technical realities, and make pragmatic decisions that help Wise scale. You’ll work in partnership with People, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Analytics and Operations — aligning teams around the highest-impact problems and building technology foundations that are reliable, scalable and easy to use.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Set the product and technical direction for People Technology, including the roadmap, priorities and success measures for the domain.
- Build scalable foundations across the systems that support the employee lifecycle, from core HR platforms to integrations, data flows, identity and automation.
- Connect strategy to delivery by translating Wise’s people and business priorities into clear product outcomes and practical execution plans.
- Make high-quality trade-offs across build, buy and integrate decisions, balancing user experience, scalability, reliability, security and compliance.
- Lead through influence by aligning senior stakeholders across People, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Analytics and Operations.
- Improve productivity and reduce friction for Wisers by simplifying processes and creating intuitive, reliable technology experiences.
- Drive measurable impact by defining KPIs, learning from delivery and continuously improving how the domain operates.
Qualifications
We know great candidates may not meet every requirement. If you have strong technical product judgement, experience working with complex systems, and are excited to learn more about People Technology, we’d still love to hear from you. You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have:
- Deep technical product experience — you’ve led complex product or platform domains, ideally in People Technology, enterprise systems, internal platforms, or another highly integrated environment.
- Strong systems thinking — you understand how data, workflows, integrations, identity, permissions and vendor platforms connect, and can make good trade-offs across them.
- Experience owning strategy and roadmaps — you can define a clear product direction, prioritise across competing needs, and translate strategy into measurable outcomes.
- A track record of delivering impact — you’ve shipped scalable solutions that improved productivity, reduced friction or created measurable value for users and the business.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership — you can influence senior stakeholders, create alignment across teams, and explain complex technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity — you’re able to structure messy problem spaces, identify the real problem to solve, and break work down into practical, deliverable steps.
- Strong partnership skills — you’ve worked closely with engineering, analytics, security, compliance, operations or people teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience with HCM, ATS, LMS, payroll, workforce planning or HR data platforms.
- Experience with API-based integrations, SSO, identity and access management, data models or automation.
- Familiarity with HR data privacy, compliance or regulated environments.
- Experience applying platform-as-a-product thinking to internal tools or enterprise systems.
