Lead a high‑performing analytics function that powers pricing, trading, and stock decisions across Holland & Barrett’s Commercial Operations. Manage a team of analysts, set the data usage direction for Commercial Ops, and partner with stakeholders in Trading, Pricing, Commercial Ops, and Supply Chain. This hybrid role requires 2 days per week in the Nuneaton office.
About the Role
Holland & Barrett is Europe's largest health & wellness retailer. The Analytics organisation is structured into five verticals plus a central Business Intelligence team. As Senior Analytics Manager in the Core Business Analytics team, you will lead the Commercial (Ops) analytics vertical covering pricing, promotions, stock exit and operational performance. You’ll work closely with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to make data a strategic lever.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the analytics roadmap for Commercial Operations across pricing, stock exit, margin performance, and trading analytics.
- Manage, coach and develop a team of Commercial Analysts (mid‑ and senior‑level).
- Partner with stakeholders across Trading, Pricing, Commercial Ops and Supply Chain to shape priorities and drive impact through data.
- Deliver dashboards and tools in Metabase to enable better decision‑making on pricing, promotions and markdowns.
- Plan and prioritise analytics workstreams, coordinating delivery with the BI and Data Engineering teams.
- Guide deep‑dive analysis into pricing performance, margin impact, and stock clearance effectiveness.
- Ensure high standards in analytics output, including documentation, scalability and reproducibility.
- Influence strategy by embedding data in key commercial forums and decision cycles.
- Champion data usage across the commercial organisation, raising data literacy and coaching stakeholders on insights.
- Work with a modern data stack, including Redshift, BigQuery, Matillion, and Retool.
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership – proven ability to lead and grow a team of analysts and build a culture of delivery, curiosity and collaboration.
- Commercial analytics expertise – deep understanding of trading, pricing, margin and product lifecycle in a retail context.
- Stakeholder influence – trusted partner to Heads of Trading, Pricing and Commercial Ops, able to translate business needs into analytical strategy.
- Delivery ownership – comfortable managing multiple workstreams, aligning resources and delivering through others.
- Technical understanding – strong SQL fluency and experience overseeing analytics products built in Metabase or equivalent BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Communication – able to present complex insights clearly and credibly at all levels, from squad to executive forums.
- Collaboration – works across functions with BI, Supply, Product and Data teams to land scalable data solutions.
- Education & experience – degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or Engineering and 6+ years of analytics experience, including 2–4 years in team management or senior stakeholder‑facing role, ideally in retail or commercial operations.
