Technical Business Analyst Location: Newcastle Hybrid Working: This role requires working from the Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park office 3 days per week. Offer is subject to BPSS and SC security clearance, requiring a 5‑year continuous UK address history.
As a Technical Business Analyst, You Will:
- Have 1.5‑5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software delivery or technology environment.
- Bridge the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, elicit requirements and deliver data‑driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.
- Create functional designs, sequence diagrams, process flows, business rules catalogues and product backlog items to agree detailed requirements with client product owners and clearly communicate what needs to be developed and tested to feature teams.
- Identify, analyze and complete complex business impact assessments across multiple business streams to understand the impact of the product/change.
- Prepare and coordinate business activities to support large implementations.
- Ensure business is operationally ready to support the target operating model.
- Lead business change activities, building communications and designing training plans to support change.
- Support testing by reviewing scripts, triaging defects and assisting with test queries.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers and testers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand‑ups).
- Assist in prioritizing the product backlog in alignment with value, risk and dependencies.
- Identify and communicate technical constraints, risks and dependencies to the team and stakeholders.
- Have experience working with cross‑functional teams & roles (developers, testers, UX, product, live services, DevOps, technical architects).
- Have a basic understanding of APIs, databases and system integration concepts.

- Demonstrate experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) or Waterfall delivery.
- Deliver change in various industry areas, including the Public Sector.
- Write clear, concise user stories and functional requirements.
- Have strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, validate business requirements and uncover data quality issues.
- Have familiarity with enterprise platforms, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Salesforce) or GenAI.
- Have familiarity with UX principles or wireframing tools (Figma, Balsamiq).
