Leads the Product Management and Governance activities across Vanguard Europe’s existing fund ranges. The role supports the oversight, health, and ongoing management, including tactical and strategic fund amendments, of the European fund range, working with partners to ensure strong client outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
- Team leadership and capability development: leads a small team responsible for day‑to‑day delivery across product management and governance activities, providing direction, coaching, and quality oversight for analysts and associates as applicable. Establishes clear priorities, ways of working, and development support, contributing to an inclusive culture that values sound judgement, collaboration, and ownership.
- Product governance and fund oversight: leads key elements of the product governance framework for Vanguard Europe funds, ensuring robust oversight across performance, risk, compliance, costs, and client outcomes. Supports engagement with Fund Boards, management companies, and governance committees on matters relating to existing funds, partnering closely with Company Secretariat on board materials and decision support. Helps ensure fund governance activities meet regulatory expectations across relevant European and other international UCITS jurisdictions.
- Ongoing fund management and fund health: drives the ongoing management of existing fund ranges, supporting clear accountability for fund health, sustainability, and client value. Leads the identification, assessment, and remediation of fund health issues, including underperformance, scale challenges, or structural concerns. Coordinates fund closure activity where required, ensuring controlled execution and strong client and regulatory outcomes.
- Assessments of Value and Fund Value Assessments: leads delivery and governance of Assessments of Value and Fund Value Assessments across the European fund range. Ensures assessments are analytically robust, client‑focused, and clearly articulated for Boards and senior stakeholders. Drives actions arising from AoV and FVA outcomes and ensures progress is tracked and evidenced.
- Regulatory change delivery: supports regulatory change impacting existing funds, including impact assessment, solution design, and delivery through to implementation. Partners with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Operations, Risk, and Investments to help ensure requirements are interpreted consistently and implemented effectively. Helps ensure regulatory‑driven fund changes are prioritised appropriately and delivered in a controlled and timely manner.
- Fund changes, amendments and structural evolution: leads analysis, coordination, and governance support for material fund changes, including benchmark changes, fee changes, investment objective updates, and structural amendments. Ensures proposed changes are supported by clear rationale, robust analysis, and appropriate governance approvals. Balances regulatory, commercial, and client considerations in shaping recommendations.
- Stakeholder partnership and influence: partners with Investments, Distribution, Marketing, Operations, Risk, and Legal on matters relating to existing funds and product governance. Provides clear, balanced recommendations grounded in client outcomes, regulatory requirements, and commercial insight.
- Enterprise contribution: contributes to enterprise‑wide initiatives, cross‑functional programs, and special projects as required. Shares best practice across PRD and supports continuous improvement in governance processes, controls, and reporting.
Core Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
- Five to seven years’ related work experience, including in product management including amendments, regulatory engagement and a deep understanding of UCITS rules.
- Experience leading workstreams and/or small teams beneficial.
- CFA is desirable but not required.
