Your Impact

We are looking for a talented and passionate Project Manager at Leonardo in Luton, working in the EW Line of Business. Leonardo is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Headquartered in Italy, Leonardo has over 45,000 employees, of which 7,000 are based in the UK. This role is part of the Combat Air Sector within the Electronics Warfare Line of Business of Leonardo Electronics division. The Division designs, builds and manufactures complex electronic systems and services for the global defence market.

You'll join a creative team developing solutions for new and existing platforms. You’ll apply budgeting techniques for forecasting and re-forecasting income, cash and cash flow milestones in order to ensure the integrity of the project plan. You’ll anticipate and manage risk and opportunities, measuring exposure to risk and provide recommendations to Project Managers. You’ll prepare analysis and reports including ‘what if’ scenarios to the management team, IPT, and external stakeholders. You’ll contribute to the preparation, management and review of bids (for follow on business and new business). You’ll engage with and manage a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll create, monitor, update project plans, and participate in the monthly update cycle. You’ll communicate any variations and changes to the contract or project to ensure accuracy of reporting, financial forecasting, and performance control. You’ll support the IPT in the day to day management of the project.

What You'll Bring

The main focus is someone with strong Project Management experience, knowledge of the key PM fundamentals and experience working within an IPT structure. Demonstrable experience in the following areas will help you stand out:

  • Experience using project control methodologies and risk management.
  • Knowledge of Agile management methodologies, Agile implementation and Agile planning.
  • Proficient on SAP/Primavera Tool for planning and project management elements.
  • Breadth of understanding in all parts of lifecycle and experience in some stages.
  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support line of reasoning.

Typically meets the knowledge and experience competency levels of Project Manager (Entry) or PMO Officer as defined by the APM Competency Framework.
